Poetry:

My heart has been made numb by tragedy upon tragedy upon tragedy.

And yet, it still beats. Beats for every person I have never known.

I have been broken, put back together, and broken again many times.

But I can fix my breaks.

Rest, repair, reconciliation.

I cannot fix yours.

And I break in a new way.

Short fiction sample:

A summary of the story I wrote for an educational game.

The evil Dr.Arex has unleashed her Trigozombitry virus on various eras throughout the space-time continuum! With most of humanity turned into zombies, it's up to you to stop the virus at the source; one era at a time.
Each strain of the virus has a different cure, so the player must find ammo for their weapon throughout the level. Dr. Arex's name is a pun on the Rx symbol,
throughout the story it is revealed that she was never very good at math and created the Trigozombitry (a pun on trigonomitry and zombie) to get back at people in the scientific field who made fun of her for this.
In a comedic twist, it is then pointed out that she had to become very good at math in order to create both the virus and a time machine. She then surrenders and goes to jail, the world saved by the player.

The opening paragraph for my Death Stranding 2 review.

The Death Stranding caused more than just one rift across the Earth. In connecting the worlds of the living and the dead, connections between people were severed. Timefall made it too dangerous for people to leave their homes or live outside of specialized cities dotted across the landscape. Bonds between nations, too, were cut, with no means of travel across the Atlantic or Pacific Oceans. Slowly, the United States came back together through the efforts of one man and his Bridge Baby: Sam Porter Bridges. After linking the United Cities of America to the Chiral Network, he vanished, along with his BB. Now, eleven months later, he’s living happily on the Mexican border and raising Lou, having long outgrown the BB pod. Fragile, now part of a civilian organization called Drawbridge, finds Sam and asks him to go back out there and connect more people, first Mexico then Australia by way of the newly appeared Plate Gate that facilitates instantaneous travel between the two continents. Over the course of the journey, Sam’s connections will be tested, some even broken, but one thing will always remain true: death can’t tear us apart.

The opening paragraph for my review of Old Skies.

In the not too distant future, time travel has become a commodity. Want to eat at that restaurant that closed down 20 years ago one more time? Make sure you were there for that company-altering presentation? Ask a long-dead boxer a question? Prevent the murder of a loved one? Chrono Zen has you covered, so long as you have the cash. The past is constantly changing, with people, places, and things going in and out of existence at the drop of a hat. Except, that is, for Chrono Zen Agents like Fia Quinn. In a world always swirling with change and possibilities, she always stays the same.

The opening paragraph my of Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition review.

July, 2054 AD - the Earth becomes yet another casualty in a war between two alien races. In a desperate attempt for survival, humanity launched several colony ships to search for a new home, but a scant few made it out of the atmosphere intact. One of these ships was the White Whale. Two years into the Whale’s journey, they are once again attacked by one of those alien races and crash lands on a strange planet: Mira. Now, humanity needs to find a way to survive on Mira, though the planet itself may hold strange secrets that could unravel the fabric of the universe.
